An introduction to the basics of picture and sound editing. A working knowledge of the software Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro would be an asset. Students will learn the theory of editing, covering the parallel use of sound and image, in order to create a story. Students will be involved in editing their and other students short films.

Each Course or module will be two weeks in length.

WEEK 1 (THEORY)

• Lecture 1 – Analysis of Footage (Overview) & Introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro

• Lecture 2 – Editing Techniques & Adobe Premiere Pro Workspaces

• Lecture 3 – Adobe Premiere Pro Workflows & Settings

• Lecture 4 – Introduction to Sound + Basic Color

• Lecture 5 – Essential Graphics, Exporting & Other Techniques

WEEK 2 (Practical)

• Editing a short 3-mins film from scratch to finish.
