Identical Pictures Ltd, a sister company of International Film school Mauritius (IFSM) is looking to hire an intern for a period of three months. This internship will be unpaid, and the schedule can be determined based on individual needs. The ideal candidate must be detailed oriented, a fast learner, passionate about films, analytical, a self-starter, team player, and a good communicator. The selected candidate will gain insider knowledge about the acquisitions and distribution processes. They will receive hands-on experience in assembling film investment portfolios. The Intern will also leave with a better grasp of how to analyse a project’s value in the market based on story content, censorship practices, and marketability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with research and evaluation for novels and films for acquisitions
  • Translation of documents
  • Administration tasks (i.e. answer phones, file, copy, maintain office, etc)
  • Reading scripts and writing coverage
  • Participate and take notes in staff meetings

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in both English and French. Any other language is a plus.
  • Familiar with script format
  • Having a minimum certificate/ Diploma level in the Film producing and coordinating
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Identical Pictures Ltd is looking for an Assistant Game developer. This position combines technical knowledge and ability with the artistic vision and creativity of a storyteller. He or she will design various types of game mechanics and manage game design documents for their project. Our ideal Game Designer candidate is a creative storyteller with the ability to enhance narrative through gameplay systems and interfaces. He or she may be assigned to a single or multiple project(s) at one time with various needs, complexities, and formats.

Responsibilities

  • Able to create original ideas and also work from existing concepts and stories
  • Skilled in understanding the user experience
  • Write and maintain documentation about designs and stay up-to-date with other designs
  • Pitch and explain game ideas to programmers, artists, directors and managers in a concise and effective manner
  • Work well with and at times lead a team of fellow game designers and developers
  • Have a thorough understanding of the current and projected market and target audiences for different games and game platforms
  • Must take initiative in handling assigned duties and additional tasks which will aid the function of the organization.
  • Expected to work in engine integrating assets and managing systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience in developing gameplay systems that involve story elements is definitely a plus
  • Proficient in Unreal and/or Unity
  • Proficiency with software to help pitch and develop ideas in 2D and 3D (i.e. Photoshop, Maya)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines in a collaborative environment
  • Must be flexible.
  • A solid understanding of current best practices in VR, AR, and traditional game mechanics.
